Abstract :
This paper develops distributed algorithms for solving Sylvester equations. The authors transform solving Sylvester equations into a distributed optimization problem, unifying all eight stan-dard distributed matrix structures. Then the authors propose a distributed algorithm to find the least squares solution and achieve an explicit linear convergence rate. These results are obtained by carefully choosing the step-size of the algorithm, which requires particular information of data and Laplacian matrices. To avoid these centralized quantities, the authors further develop a distributed scaling tech-nique by using local information only.As a result, the proposed distributed algorithm along with the distributed scaling design yields a universal method for solving Sylvester equations over a multi-agent network with the constant step-size freely chosen from configurable intervals. Finally, the authors provide three examples to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Abstract :
Vanadium dioxide (VO2), renowned for its reversible metal-to-insulator transition (MIT), has been widely used in configurable photonic and electronic devices. Precisely tailoring the MIT of VO2 on micro-/nano-scale is crucial for miniaturized and integrated devices. However, existing tailoring techniques like scanning probe microscopy, despite their precision, fall short in efficiency and adaptability, particularly on complex or curved surfaces. Herein, this work achieves the local engineering of the phase of VO2 films in high efficiency by employing laser writing to assist in the hydrogen doping or dedoping process. The laser doping and laser dedoping technique is also highly flexible, enabling the fabrication of reconfigurable, non-volatile, and multifunctional VO2 devices. This approach establishes a new paradigm for creating reconfigurable micro/nanophotonic and micro/nanoelectronic devices.

Abstract :
Current soft grippers lack active variable stiffness composite fingers and flexible modular configuration, which limit their robust grasp abilities. We proposed a morphology configurable soft gripper (MCSG) assembled with self-adaption modular composite fingers (SAMCFs), whose grasping force can be up to 193N. The SAMCF with three actuator modules embedded arranged sponge and paperboard and one sensor module made with pre-inflated air chamber is developed to perform soft grasp with high load capacity and self-sensing ability. Through assembling corresponding SAMCFs to main frame, MCSGs with dual fingers (MCSG-DF), with three fingers (MSCG-TF), with four fingers (MSCG-FF) and with six fingers (MSCG-SF) are manufactured to adapt for grasping objects with different shapes, sizes, and weights. A pneumatic control system with hybrid valve combination is designed to output air pressure from negative to positive to perform contraction and elongation motion simultaneously, and output positive pressure to provide preset pressure for sensor modules. Finally, a multi-channel pneumatic control system is developed to control MCSGs to grasp a variety of objects, such as cherry tomato (10g), egg (170g), banana (155g), stool (3570g), etc. Furthermore, MCSGs can complete complicated tasks in daily life, such as water decanting, bottle cap unscrewing, mobile phone charging and water pumping. Abstract :
This paper proposes a UART communication interface based on APB bus with asynchronous FIFO buffer. Based on this design, the UART controller can be flexibly configured through the AMBA bus to support baud rate modification, transmission bits, configurability of parity mode and other functions. And the asynchronous FIFO buffer function is added for communication between high-speed devices and low-speed UART devices. During data transmission, the FIFO can buffer the data and the situation that the UART device occupies the APB bus and the processor for a long time can be avoided, improving the data transmission efficiency. The design is based on the UART transmission protocol. the finite state machine method is used to control the the transmission timing of UART interface, and RTL simulation and FPGA verification are carried out, showing good flexibility of this design. © 2022 IEEE.

Abstract :
An accurate far-field intensity distribution model of coherent VCSEL array is established based on Fraunhofer diffraction theory, of which the calculated far-field pattern can be configured by tuning the phase distribution of the array. In experiment, configurable beam emissions are achieved in two-dimensional coherent square 2 x 2 VCSEL arrays and triangular 3-element VCSEL arrays by engineering the phase distribution of the array through simply constructing the array structure. Single-lobe beam, double-lobe beam, and four-lobe beam are obtained in these arrays. Besides, beam shape manipulation is also realized by adjusting the ratio of horizontal dimension to vertical dimension of the array. The experimental results are in good agreement with the calculated results from the established theoretical model.

Abstract :
VO2 has been widely used in optical modulation devices due to its large change in permittivity across its first-order metal-semiconductor phase transition. People have proved that VO2's phase transition can be driven by plasmonic hot-electron injection, providing a new approach to realizing ultrafast all-optical devices with a low pump fluence. Here, we report on ultrafast VO2 all-optical modulation with a dramatically low pump fluence utilizing the composite structure of a self-supported VO2 film on a gold nanoshell grating. Plasmonic hot electrons in the gold excited by femtosecond pulses are injected into the VO2 film and trigger its phase transition, reducing the pump fluence threshold for the structural transformation to only 147.8 mu J/cm2. With a pump fluence above this threshold, ultrafast phase transition can be triggered within 1 ps, and a high modulation depth of 50% can be achieved. Moreover, an ultrafast modulation with an on-off time of 650 fs can also be achieved using a pump fluence below the threshold. This work may explore new applications of plasmonic hot-electron-driven phase transition in optical modulation devices and configurable devices.

Abstract :
Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE) places stringent requirements on communication real-Time, message security and uses efficient static scheduling algorithms for TT messages to guarantee the service quality of the network. In order to improve the solving performance of TT message schedule, a hybrid schedule technology based on genetic algorithm and simulated annealing is innovatively used in the TTE scheduling solution process. It includes the optimization of coding, selection and crossover. The TT message transmission constraint in the form of penalty functions is combined with TTE objective function to devise an adaptability function with the configurable parameters. In addition, the individual update process is designed by using the idea of annealing. Messages scenarios are set up to comprehensively evaluate the algorithm performance in operational efficiency and solution quality. Experimental results indicate that the hybrid technology combined genetic algorithm and simulated annealing is well qualified for TTE scheduling, which performs well in time consumption and global solution search. © 2022 IEEE.

Abstract :
One of the challenges in the field of the incorporation of nanoparticles is how to control the core particle in the desired position/location of configurable shells. Herein, we describe a general and facile method for tuning the core position during the incorporation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in different kinds of shells. The strategy involves the use of AuNPs with different sizes, shapes, and surface chemistry, and we investigated the intriguing "wetting" of solid shell domains on seed nanoparticles. The observable shell permits a simple qualitative measurement of the nanoparticle surface wettability. It creates a platform for the synthesis of anisotropic nanoparticles.
