清代画家笪重光隐居茅山,潜心修道,他的著作《画筌》中反映的崇"清"尚"妙""得意忘象"、虚实相生、寄情山水等思想都是典型的道学思想,体现了笪重光在中国山水画创作中的审美取向,这些观点对今天中国山水画继承与创新仍有极大的借鉴与参考价值。
