Abstract:
The corrosion rate and electric flux of reinforced concrete with supplementary cementitious materials (fly ash and slag) subjected to sulfate corrosion and a fatigue loading environment were studied. The specimens under a sulfate corrosive environment were analyzed and the relationship between the corrosion rate of steel bar and electric flux of concrete was obtained. The results show that for reinforced concrete with the same cementitious materials, lowering the water-binder ratio (w/b) of concrete decreases the corrosion rate and electric flux accordingly. For reinforced concrete specimens with the same w/b, supplementary cementitious materials can reduce the corrosion rate. Both sulfate corrosion and fatigue loading accelerate the corrosion rate and electric flux. Under sulfate corrosion environment, the relationship between corrosion rate and electric flux is fit to be applied as a regression formula.
