Abstract:
The pure perovskite NaNbO3 (NN) nanopowders were prepared using a molten salt synthesis method (MSS) at 800 degrees C for 4 h, with raw materials of analytical grade Na2CO3 and Nb2O5 in KCl flux salts. The phase composition and morphology of the synthesized powders were investigated by XRD, SEM and TEM. Compared with the conventional solid phase process, the NaNbO3 powders synthesized by MSS were pure and free of hard agglomeration, consisting of similar cubic structures with an average size of about 200 nm. The formation mechanism of nanocube NaNbO3 can be attributed to the dissolution-precipitation process.
