Abstract:
In the people - vehicles - road - environment system, road surface roughness is one of the main factors which may affect ride comfort and driving safety. moreover, in recent years the new research trend of asphalt pavement performance is inclined to emphasize human factor. In this study, applying the instruments such as driving simulation module, electrocardiogram device and laser multi-function road detection equipment, simulation studies on asphalt pavement surface roughness were done indoors and field tests were also done by the combination of electrocardiogram device and assembled laser detection equipments. The purpose of this research is to seek the physiological-psychological indictors which are affected apparently by asphalt pavement roughness. The test results testify that some HRV indicators are indeed affected by road surface roughness. So it is practical that a re-evaluation system on asphalt pavement roughness which is mainly based on passengers' physiological-psychological reaction will be established and a more humane and reasonable technical support will be provided for maintenance and management of road.
