Abstract:
Dynamic mechanical behavior of S30408 structural stainless steel was studied at different elevated temperatures and strain rates by using split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) installed with heating and synchro assembly system. The quasi-static experiment (0.001 s-1) was operated in the DNS100 material test system at different temperatures.Experimental results show that the material has obvious strain rate strengthening effect and temperature softening effect, and at a certain temperature, temperature becomes the main factor affecting material performance.Based on the characteristics of flow stress curve of S30408, the Johnson-Cook model was modified. The modified Johnson-Cook model is in good agreement with the experimental results, and the constitute model of S30408 structural stainless steel can be used for structure analysis at high temperature and strain rates. © 2019, Editorial Board of Journal of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
