With the development of society, autonomous driving technology has developed rapidly. It provides a new way of travel for travelers. The shared Autonomous Vehicles are the product of the combination of autonomous vehicles and sharing economy. It can provide travelers with travel services on demand. This study constructs a model of travelers' willingness to accept a carpooling ride under the condition of autonomous driving and shared car travel and discusses travelers' carpooling preference in the travel process. The results show that the travelers' willingness to accept a carpooling ride under the automatic driving mode is closely related to the characteristics of daily commuting travel, carpooling characteristics and personal attributes. This paper provides a theory basis for the study of carpooling choice intention of private car commuters and non-private car commuters, and provides a corresponding basis for the formulation of ride-sharing policy, traffic resources and the alleviation of traffic congestion. © ASCE.
