Abstract:
Rotation electron diffraction method was used to study the structures and crystallographic orientations of the face centered tetragonal structured y-titanium hydride and the face centered cubic structured 6-titanium hydride by collecting the diffraction information of the hydrides and the matrix at the same time. It was found that the FCC001 6-hydride is the result of phase transformation caused by continuing to charge hydrogen into y-hydride. Therefore, we got the complete map of the paths in which hexagonal close-packed titanium transforms to stable 6-titanium hydrides with the increase of hydrogen atoms.
