Abstract:

We have realized the optical response of QWIPs to vertical incident infrared light by using a novel surface plasmon type metasurface optical coupling structure. The average transmittance of GaAs/AlGaAs QWIPs with Au Rods metasurface structure in the wavelength range of 7-9um is over 64%, the peak transmittance around 7.6um can reach 68%. In liquid nitrogen temperature and blackbody source conditions, the peak response of the device is 8.5uV and peak SNR is 686. © 2021 IEEE.
