Abstract:
Compressor is the core component of the vapor compression heat pump. In order to explore the inverted performance of the vapor compression heat pump compressor, compressor is inverted and performance laboratory bench is built to study the influence of refrigerant charge on system performance. Experimental results show that compressor discharge temperature and compressor power increase with the amount of refrigerant charge under conditions of constant cooling capacity and other conditions. The coefficient of performance(COP)is less than the value obtained when compressor is upright. The maximum cooling COP value of 3.2 under 150 g is got. The cooling performance is good that the vapor compression heat pump can be considered as gravity- independent. Experiments of vapor compression heat pump with compressor inverted provide valuable reference value for space application. © 2017, Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
