Abstract:
To promote the healthy and sustainable development of territorial space, it is necessary to identify study the coordinate relationship between the production-living-ecology functions (PLEFs) of land at the township level. This study took the towns in the Beijing Plain area as a case to establish an evaluation system of PLEFs, and used the coupling coordination degree model to reveal the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of the functions' relationship. Results show that the PLEFs in the township areas of Beijing Plain have obvious temporal and spatial differences. The production function and living function increase though they fluctuated. The ecological function decreases first and then increases. For the spatial distribution, the production function is higher in the south than in the north, and the ecological function presents a declining trend from north to south. The living function decreases outwards with the towns around the central urban area as a core. The coupling coordination degree (CCD) increases except for that of the production-ecology first decreases and then increases. Most of the towns are coordinated, while the uncoordinated villages and towns are mainly located on the north-south and east-west axes around the central urban area. Towns with different CCDs are affected differentially by functions, therefore targeted promotion strategies should be adopted for towns with different levels of coupling coordination in the future. © 2023 Beijing University of Technology.
