Abstract:

For the four types of joints formed by blind bolt connection between H-shaped pure steel beam, steel-concrete composite beam and rectangular steel tube column, rectangular concrete filled steel tube column respectively, the force mechanism and failure mode under the action of bending moment are analyzed, and the factors leading to joint failure are discussed. Nine failure modes of joints under bending moment are summarized, including tensile fracture of blind bolt, flexural yield of end plate, tensile yield of column flange plate, compressive yield of column flange plate, compressive buckling of column web plate, local collapse of concrete slab, yield of steel bars, local collapse of concrete in rectangular steel tube column, and compressive yield of column web plate. Based on the failure modes, the calculation formula of the bearing capacity for each component of the joint is given. The calculation formula of flexural capacities of four joints under the action of sagging and hogging moments with different failure modes is given. Finally, the accuracy of calculation formula is verified based on the test results of the flexural capacities of the joints. © 2024 Chinese Society of Civil Engineering. All rights reserved.
