Abstract:
Fe-Cr-B-C system alloys with different chromium contents of 12%, 14%, 16% and 18% were deposited on Q235 steel by flux-cored wire arc welding, and then the hardfacing alloys were subjected to heat treatment at 600 for 8 h. The influence of chromium content on microstructure and wear resistance of the hardfacing alloys as-welded and heat treated were investigated. The results show that the main hard phases of the hardfacing alloys are (Fe, Cr)23(B, C)6particles. The matrix in as welded state is composed of martensite and residual austenite. The microstructure of the matrix changes to tempered sorbite after heat treatment. The (Fe, Cr)23(B, C)6phase is stable when the chromium content reaches up to 14%. The content of Cr has significant influence on the high temperature wear resistance of the hardfacing alloys. After heat treatment, the relative wear resistance of the hardfacing alloy containing 12% Cr decreases from 10.65 to 2.08, only 19.5% of the wear resistance of the hardfacing alloy in as welded state, while the relative wear resistance of the hardfacing alloy with 16% Cr is 9.08 after heat treatment, indicating a good wear resistance. ©, 2015, Editorial Office of Transactions of Materials and Heat Treatment.
