Abstract:
The MSWI process offers numerous advantages, including a high reduction rate, rapid treatment speed, and onsite incineration. However, under unstable operating conditions, particularly in cases of fluctuating furnace temperatures, the concentration of discharged particulate matter may exceed the required emission standards. To better understand the characteristics of particle concentration at normal incinerator temperatures, a practical municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) process in Beijing was simulated using 2D numerical simulation. The incinerator's structure is outlined, and a two-dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model of the incinerator is developed. Based on actual process parameters, experiments were conducted under benchmark operating conditions. The gas composition and particle concentration characteristics under normal temperature conditions are analyzed. These findings can support the optimization of control strategies for real-world MSWI processes. © 2024 IEEE.
