Abstract:

The influence of electric field on the evaporation/boiling heat transfer characteristic for an evaporator with rectangular micro-channels was experimentally investigated. R141b was used as the working fluid. The cylindrical electrode was used to produce electric field. The experimental result indicates that heat transfer enhancement is strongly dependent on the electric field strength. The heat transfer enhancement increase with the increase of the electric field strength. Furthermore, operating pressure has a strong influence on the evaporation/boiling heat transfer enhancement when the electric field strength keeps constant. The maximum enhancement of heat transfer coefficient is 1.28 times. © All Rights Reserved.
