Abstract:
Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) have been researched increasingly because they present an extensive range of potential applications. Since the battery size constraints implementations, energy efficiency is the vital criterion when WBAN protocols are designed. The Transmission Power Control (TPC) mechanism is one of the substantial approaches to decreasing energy consumption and interferences. In this paper, the Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) architecture is utilized in e-Health systems. A TPC mechanism is proposed based on the Wind Driven Optimization (WDO). The suggested approach is assessed, and its performance is computed and compared with other TPC approaches. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism presents higher energy efficiency, delivery ratio, and throughput. © 2024 IEEE.
