Abstract:

The rock samples in different marble rock types were taken along the headrace tunnel excavated by Tunnel Boring Machine of Jinping II Hydropower Station. The author used the taken samples to carry out Cerchar abrasivity tests indoors. Then the CAI values were analyzed and evaluated. By analysis of the cutter wear of TBM, the author expressed his opinion that the cutter wear in different marble rock types is low. These results accord with the abrasivity tests results of marbles. But, the abnormal cutter breakage is very high. It is mainly related to the uneven tunnel face.
