Abstract:

In this paper, a test system of book quality is designed for book binding machines, folder machines and book leaf-gathering machines. And this system with an external camera of NTSC or PAL standard uses digital signal microcomputer processor of high speed to gather and process images. Synchronous dynamic random access memory circuits, Flash memory, RS232 serial communication circuits, video decoding and external signal serving circuits are developed for this test system of book quality, and CPLD chip is a controlling unit of this system. Algorithms of gray correlation and gray average are also derived to obtaining image information for this test system of book quality, and these methods make the system running fast and recognizing more categories of books. Experiments show that precision of this test system of book quality is about 99%.
