Abstract:

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer/Plastic (CFRP) has high strength and good corrosion resistance, and can be used to improve the bearing capacity and durability of reinforced concrete columns, which used in corrosion environment. This test will research the corrosion resistance and axial bearing capacity of corrosion-reinforced concrete column wrapped CFRP subjected to corrosion again. The differences between FRP and the conventional protective systems (silicon alkyl and polymer mortar) were discussed in this article. This test indicated corrosion-reinforced concrete column wrapped CFRP will restore the initial strength of corrosion-reinforced concrete column and arrest further corrosion. The corrosion resistance of silicon alkyl is a little better than polymer mortar, but the long term corrosion resistance of both them are bad.
