Abstract:

For the purpose of the implementation and the improvement for POCS super-resolution reconstruction, we design a simulation-correction iteration method to reconstruct high-resolution images according to the theory of POCS, and also propose an improvement to reduce the amount of Gibbs artifacts present on the edges of the high-resolution reconstructed image, which weights the blur PSF centered at an edge pixel with an exponential function, and consequently decreases the coefficients of the modified PSF in the direction orthogonal to the edge. The proposed algorithm is validated using both simulated and real sequences. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is simple and available, and furthermore reduces effectively the visibility of edge artifacts and produces high-resolution images of good quality.
