Abstract:

Roller is one of most important component in the industry of steel rolling. Repairing the roller by using overlaying welding can not only decrease the cost, enhance the life of roller, but also can save the consumption of roller and alloying element. A flux cored wire of Cr alloy system was developed for repairing cogging roller, joint properties were studied and the influence of alloy element on the wear resistance of joint was analyzed. The result shows that using the developed flux cored wire, the Rockwell hardness of weld reached HRC42~45 after annealing and the metallurgical microstructure was martensite and residual austensite. When the developed flux cored wire was used with sintered flux 107, the formation of weld was excellent and slag could be automatically removed. Other conditions equal, the weld including 2% wolframium can get better wear resistance than the weld including 2% molybdenum.
