Abstract:
Anaerobic ammonium oxidation (ANAMMOX) is a novel technique with low consumption and high nitrogen removal. This paper studied on the nitrogen removal efficiency of ANAMMOX biofilter at low substration concentration, and its result showed that ANAMMOX biofilter still had very high activity at low ammonium concentration range of 10 to 25 mg/L, the average ammonium removal rate is 93.07% and the nitrite removal rate is 82.23%. The proper ratio of ammonium and nitrite is 1.34, and the height of the biofilter where substrate was removed efficiently is 0 to 60 cm.
