Abstract:
This paper describes a new kind of multiple description coding method for image using Mojette Transform. The so-called Mojette Transform is a discrete analog of Radon Transform, which is a projective transform. In virtue of the independence of the different projections, any portion of the coded image can be replaced by another one if transmission problems occur. Furthermore, using Mojette Transform we can easily control the redundancy and generate any number of descriptions not confined to two descriptions. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm not only is simply implemented, but also has high performance for error-resilient image transmission.
