Abstract:
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) corrosion resistance at 600°C of Al-based coating prepared by arc spraying was investigated and compared with A304 stainless steel and Fe-Al coating. The results show that the Al-based coating has the best hydrogen sulfide corrosion resistance among the three kinds of coatings. The reason is that, because of the high Al content of the Al-based coating. Aluminous corrosion products are prior to form and the coating includes various aluminous intermetallic, which prevent the sulfur from penetrating to the inner coating, resulting in excellent hydrogen sulfide corrosion resistance property.
