Abstract:
In high buildings, RC core wall serve as main component that resists lateral force. There has been little experimental study on RC core wall, and so as the study on measures of improving the seismic performance of RC core wall. In this paper, firstly, on the basis of supporting research on RC shear wall with concealed bracings, RC core wall with concealed bracings is put forward. Secondly, through the experimental study on one 1/6 scale core wall with concealed bracings and one 1/6 scale normal core wall under low cyclic loading, effects of concealed bracings on failure phenomena, bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, energy dissipation, hysteresis property and steel strain of reinforced concrete core walls are discussed. The experiment shows that the ability of energy dissipation of the RC core walls with concealed bracings is enhanced remarkably, and the seismic performance of the RC core walls with concealed bracings is improved greatly.
