Abstract:
Optical sparse-aperture system can be designed to obtain high resolution in astronomical object imaging with several. Maximal and minimum fill factors of the sparse-aperture systems are presented, with the examples of annulus, Golay6 and tri-arm. A novel model named sparse-aperture multiple-array system is also proposed, and three kinds of configuration models have been illustrated. We compare the imaging performance of different multiple-array configurations by using the modulation transfer function (MTF). The results show that the variety of space between sub-aperture and the rotation of sub-array of multiple-array configurations have the effects on multiple-array MTF, and the multiple-array configurations have the advantages of firm configuration and easy fabrication.
