Abstract:

Homogeneous combustion/decomposition of fuel with peroxide additives added was investigated based on mass spectrographic detector. The experimental results show that fuel ignition is effectively improved by peroxide additives. The available temperature range for fuel additive to improve the ignition is 500-900 K. The laboratory results well agree with the engine test, which indicates that this approach is simple and reliable for screening HCCI additives, providing a rapid and highly effective tool for the future research in this field.
