Abstract:
The influence of the current density and frequency on the mechanical behavior of the W-CeO2 rod was studied during tension tests in which electric current was applied to the deformation workpiece. A larger decrease in material flow stress and great improvement in the formability were observed in electrically assisted tests compared to the normal tests. The scanning electron microscopy observation showed that the fracture mechanism of tungsten material changed from brittle fracture to ductile fracture, and the second phase fractured, which even became spheroidizing shape. © (2015) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
