Abstract:
With the requirements of mobility, flexibility, and rapid response, public safety Mesh networks are widely used for emergency services to improve the efficiency of public safety communication to prevent or respond to incidents that harm or endanger persons or property. This special field communication brings new security challenges. In this paper, we propose a key agreement scheme with voting receiver special for public safety Mesh networks based on station-to-station protocol using directed signature where only both participants can gain the shared secret key, however, any party else can not understand the key agreement process including signature's verification. We analyze the properties of security and efficiency of our key agreement scheme in comparison to station-to-station protocol and authenticated key agreement based on asymmetric encryption. The results of experiment show that our key agreement scheme can provide resistance to unknown key-share attacks and better efficiency in terms of computational cost. © 2010 IEEE.
