Abstract:

Magnetron, as an important kind of high power microwave devices, has a wide applications in many fields, such as military, medical and civil fields [1]. As the key component of magnetron, cathode plays an important role in the magnetron. With the development of high power, high-frequency magnetron, the cathode is needed to have excellent secondary electron emission properties. It was found in our previous work that La2O 3-Y2O3-Mo prepared by solid-liquid doping method exhibited a certain secondary emission property[2]. Therefore we doped Y2O3 and Lu2O3 into molybdenum powder by a solid-liquid method in order to obtain a secondary emission material with a higher secondary emission yield (δ). The emission property and secondary emission mechanism of Y2O3-LU 2O3-Mo have been studied in this paper. © 2010 IEEE.
