Abstract:

In this paper, a measure model of diversification's synergistic degree is established based on the theory of synergistic effect. And the development of diversification's static and dynamic synergy in Midea, which is a listed Chinese household appliance corporation, is analyzed with the annual financial statement data from 2002 to 2007 by using the method of Principal Component Analysis and Regression Analysis. The result shows that due to the complexity of diversification's synergy in corporation, the degree of synergistic effect between Midea Household Appliance and its diversification business decreases firstly and increases afterwards, which indicates that its development is not always on the track of harmonious development. The paper has provided new thoughts and analytical approach to the problem of analysis and evaluation of the diversification's synergistic effect in diversified corporation.
