Abstract:
For finite element analysis of a dynamic system with damping, two explicit numerical schemes are presented by the authors and compared with the central difference method and some other numerical schemes. The effects of Rayleigh damping on the stability of the system by using the aforementioned explicit integration schemes are discussed. A criterion is suggested for determination of the stability condition in finite element analysis of a dynamic system with Rayleigh damping.
