Abstract:
Experiment study was performed to investigate heat transfer enhancement of free surface impinging liquid jets with ferrofiuid. Transformer oil and a kind of kerosene-based ferrofluid C1-20B were used as working liquids. A Slot nozzle of 250 μm in width is used in the experiment and jet velocities varied from 5.7 m/s to 8.5 m/s. A simulated heater of 13x5 mm was exposed to the liquid jets as a heat transfer surface. The results were compared between with and without magnetofluid. Heat transfer enhancement was found in the experiment.
