Abstract:
A 99.9% Silver was cold-rolled to 93% reduction and annealed at different temperature. The results show that the cold-rolled and recrystallization texture , in principle, agree with previous works. In order to explain the texture change , a model of brass recrystallization , which was developed by Bunge and others, was used , In this model the orientation change during annealing is assumed to be determined by n-generation twinning and by the fast growing orientation. However , the factors to determine the twin process and the fast growing orientation are remained to be solved. In this paper a grain boundary migration model is proposed in which the migration direction is determined by the surface energy difference of the neighboring crystal planes , low energy planes tend to grow. With such a concept the twinning process and the "fast growing" texture component can be understood.
