Abstract:

Aiming at the failure reasons and previous qualitative study's shortcomings, a bi-level programming model of private capital investment in public transport was constructed. The model validity was verified based on sample analysis of Jinan public traffic. Results show that effective private capital investment is helpful to increase the total social welfare of the public transport system. A quantitative tool is provided by the model to evaluate private capital investment effects and design investment policies as well as to develop further research. © 2016, Editorial Department of Journal of Wuhan University of Technology.
