Abstract:

In this paper the white-light-emitting Gd2P4O13:Tm3+- Dy3+ phosphors were synthesized via high temperature solid-state reaction method. The X-ray diffraction of the Gd2P4O13:Tm3+- Dy3+ phosphors were performed. Concentration quenching of Gd2P4O13 with Tm3+ - doped ions was studied in detail. The luminescence excitation, emission and decay measurements were performed. Energy transfer between Tm3+ and Dy3+ have been studied. The phosphor Gd2P4O13:Tm3+ exhibit strong blue emission ranging from 440 nm to 470 nm of Tm3+(H-3(6) -> D-1(2)) under 359 nm excitation. The emission peak at 456 nm is the luminescence of Tm3+(D-1(2) -> F-3(4)). Energy transfer process in the Dy3+-Tm3+ system is proved. This paper includes the color perception analysis of synthesized phosphors. The coordinates of Gd2P4O13:1%Tm3+-3%Dy3+ phosphor is very close to the white-lighting location.
