Abstract:
In this paper, the state-of-the-art of studies on the liquefaction of saturated soils are reviewed, including the mechanism of the soil liquefaction, the influential factors of the seismically induced soil liquefaction, the approach of estimating and analyzing the seismic hazard of the soil liquefaction, and the characters of the post-liquefaction soils. Some works on the soil liquefaction induced by blasting are also introduced. Then, after analyzed these works, some intending research works are proposed, such as the dynamic constitutive relation of the soil skeleton, the effect of the Rayleigh wave to liquefaction, the influence of the structure-soil interaction on liquefaction, the character of the post-liquefaction soils, the building settlements due to liquefaction and blasting-induced liquefaction, and so on.
