Abstract:

Based on fractal theory, this research put forward the station-radius fractal dimension which represents supply capacity of terminal in rail transit network and transfer demand-radius fractal dimension representing the transfer demand of terminal. Then a consistency index based on fractal dimension was proposed, which represented the balance of supply capacity and transfer demand. With rail transit networks of Beijing as examples, simulation results confirmed the effectiveness of the model and algorithm, and the sensitivity analysis on several important parameters from the algorithm was conducted. The impact of travel behavior on the fractal dimension and the consistency index was discussed. Results show that the consistency index is more effective to describe the balance of supply and demand for rail transit network.
