Abstract:

The primary purpose of this study was to investigate how trip-chain attributes impact on combined mode in the Jinan region. The trip-chain is divided into 5 types, and properties of chain are divided into four categories. Multinomial Logit Model (ML) developed by using the sample from Jinan Travel Survey. There are significant effects on mode choice between the number of tours in the trip-chain, trip chain mode, travel time of trip-chain and travel expenses for the trip-chain. Trip-chain' complexity not lead to increased use of private car. With the number of tours increasing, people will adopt a single non-private mode.
