Abstract:
The method for calculating the lateral stiffness of partially-restrained steel frame with RC infill walls was studied to provide a referrence for elastic deformation. Based on the experimental investigation of ten one-bay, two-story partially-restrained steel frame with reinforced concrete walls (PSRCW) on one third scale under low reversed cyclic loading, overall stiffness and stiffness reduction of PSRCW were analyzed. The results show that PSRCW has large lateral stiffness and slowly-degraded stiffness. Thickness of infill wall, type of shear connector and concrete strength have large effect on initial lateral stiffness, but type of PR connection and quantity of shear connector have little effect on stiffness. Calculation method for the initial lateral stiffness of PSRCW is proposed through deformation analysis of PSRCW. The calculated values of the lateral stiffness match well with the experimental ones.
