Abstract:
In order to ascertain the seismic performance of the concrete filled steel tube columns with gambrel appeared in the practical engineering, three 1/3 scaled concrete filled steel tube columns with gambrel were carried out under cyclic loading test. Based upon the test, the bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic curves and failure characters between the concrete filled tube columns are compared. And a simplified calculation method for bearing capacity of the concrete filled steel tube column with gambrel is established. The results show that the concrete filled steel tube columns with gambrel meet the seismic requirements through reasonable design.
