Abstract:
To achieve the seismic performance of recycled concrete shear walls, three 1/3 scaled models with different percentage of aggregate replacement, including one natural concrete shear wall, one recycled concrete shear wall with 100% recycled coarse aggregate and one recycled concrete shear wall with 100% recycled coarse and fine aggregate, were tested on the shaking table. The testing process included elastic, cracking, and failure stages of the model structures. Dynamic characteristic and dynamic response of the structures at different stages were studied and also made the comparison between failure patterns of 3 models. By comparing the test results show that the seismic performance of the recycled coarse aggregate concrete shear wall is close to the seismic performance of the natural concrete shear wall. At the first crack appearing on the recycled concrete shear wall, the peak of the acceleration applied to excite it is decreased by 9.7% compared with that applied to excite the natural shear wall. At the failure stage of specimen with 1/120 roof drift angle, the peak of the acceleration applied to excite it is decreased by 5. 8%. It can be used to building structure engineering through reasonable design.
