Abstract:

On the basis of briefly introducing cellular automata (CA) basic concept, underlying property and simulation modeling steps using CA, the applications of CA in modeling and simulation of penicillin fermentation process biomass growth was studied. First, a penicillin batch fermentation process biomass growth simulation model based on CA was established, and then the program of this model was composed using Matlab. The simulation experiment results of the program show that the cellular automata simulation model well describes the evolution behavior of penicillin fermentation process biomass growth, the ability of cellular automata for simulating complex physical phenomenon or process is very powerful, and cellular automata are ideal artificial life calculation models for modeling and simulation of penicillin fermentation processes.
