Abstract:

HA/Ti bioactive composites were prepared by spark plasma sintering (SPS). The effect of sintering temperature on the microstructure and phase was studied. The result shows that the HA/Ti (70 wt%/30 wt%) composite can be well sintered at much lower temperature as 900°C, at which the HA is not resolved and metallurgical combining between Ti alloy and Ti powder was realized.
