棕色玻璃及其应用属于硼硅酸盐玻璃领域，其化学组成(wt％)为： SiO2 65～78、B2O3 3～11、Al2O3 4～8、Li2O 0.1～1.0、Na2O 5～10、K2O 0.5～1.5、 MgO 0.1～1.5、CaO 0.3～6、ZrO2 0～2、ZnO 0～2、Cl2 0.01～0.2、 SO3 0.02～0.35、Fe2O3 0.2～1.0、TiO2 1～4、CeO2 0.1～1.0。该产品外观为透明棕色 玻璃，具有高化学稳定性和避光要求，因此该玻璃特别适合用于医药玻璃、 化学装置玻璃、生物试剂玻璃。
