A method for characterizing the deformation localization in granular materials using the relative particle motion SCIE

Abstract :

The failure location identification of granular materials can be solved by capturing the deformation localization. Considering the relative translation and rotation among particles, a new concept named the relative particle motion (RPM) is proposed to describe the deformation localization of the granular materials. An approach is developed to realize the selection of particles that are used to calculate RPM. The number of particles involved in RPM calculation is controlled by two key parameters, i.e., grid spacing (U) and domain radius (R). Combining the proposed concept and the selection approach of particles, the method that can capture the region of the deformation localization in the granular material is established and implemented in PFC2D.The simulation of a uniaxial compression test is conducted to analyze the effect of parameters U and R on the calculation results of the RPM field, and a reasonable range of U and R is given. Three typical conditions, including the biaxial compression, trapdoor, and particle flow tests, are taken as examples to validate the proposed method under different loading conditions. Regions of the deformation localization characterized by RPM have a good agreement with the shear band presented in the published literature.

A cyclic p-y elastoplastic model applied to lateral loaded pile in soft clays SCIE

Abstract :

The p-y method as a simplified analysis tool has been widely used to analyze the behavior of laterally loaded piles. This paper develops a novel cyclic p-y elastoplastic model within the framework of the single-surface bounding surface theory. The model can capture the soil stiffness degradation during cyclic loading by incorporating the cumulative plastic displacement to an interpolation function of the elastoplastic resistance coefficient. The model is relatively simple with only four parameters that can be determined from standard soil properties and stress-strain responses measured in direct simple shear tests. The performance of developed model is validated by predicting the cyclic lateral response of piles installed in soft clay during field and centrifuge tests published in the literature. The model can reliably simulate monotonic and cyclic responses of piles under different lateral loading patterns, and capture main characteristics of the pile-head load-displacement curve, such as nonlinearity, hysteresis, displacement accumulation, and stiffness degradation. It can also predict the evolution of the lateral deflection and sectional bending moment along the pile during cyclic loading.

A simple numerical simulation method for unsaturated stratum under the water environmental load SCIE

Abstract :

A simple numerical simulation method is proposed to investigate the mechanical response of the unsaturated stratum under the water environmental load. The proposed numerical simulation method applies the water environmental load to the unsaturated stratum as the load condition, and adopts the developed non-orthogonal elastoplastic constitutive model for unsaturated soil to describe the mechanical behaviors at the material scale. The mechanical response of unsaturated stratum is obtained by solving the discretized governing equation of the mechanical equilibrium. The proposed numerical simulation method is implemented based on the commercial finite element software ABAQUS. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through the element tests on the Botkin silt, the element tests on the Pearl clay, and a model test of the rising water level on a sand column. The numerical simulations of the rising and decreasing groundwater level in the unsaturated stratum are con-ducted. During the rising groundwater level, the non-collapsible stratum produces rebound deformation, the collapsible stratum below the groundwater level occurs rebound deformation, and the collapsible stratum above the groundwater level mainly produces settlement deformation. During the decreasing groundwater level, both the collapsible stratum and the non-collapsible stratum produce the settlement deformation.

A simple 3D elastoplastic constitutive model for overconsolidated soils based on the improved Hvorslev envelope SCIE

Abstract :

Soils encountered in geotechnical engineering exhibit a certain degree of overconsolidation and are in a three-dimensional (3D) stress state. The overconsolidated ratio (OCR) and the intermediate principal stress play a significant role in the strength and deformation of overconsolidated soils. By considering the variation of the peak stress ratio with OCR, and taking the zero-tension line and the critical state line as asymptotes, a continuous and smooth Hvorslev envelope is deduced to describe the peak strength of overconsolidated soils. Based on the proposed Hvorslev envelope, a simple 3D elastoplastic constitutive model for overconsolidated soils is directly established through the characteristic stress method. The constitutive relation of the proposed model is presented by the calculation of the total strain increment. All material parameters have clear physical meanings and can be determined by conventional laboratory tests. The isotropic compression path, the triaxial drained shearing path with constant p, the triaxial undrained shearing path, and the true triaxial drained shearing path with constant p and & theta; are adopted to demonstrate the essential features of the proposed model. The effectiveness of the proposed model is confirmed by comparing the experimental data from Lower Cromer till, Kaolin clay, and Fujinomori clay with corresponding model predictions.

钢筋混凝土界面的近场动力学方法

Abstract :

近场动力学方法已被广泛用于钢筋混凝土的开裂破坏研究,传统近场动力学方法的控制方程与参数是基于同种均质材料的能量方程确定,在处理不同种材料之间的相互作用时,无法合理反映其界面的力学行为.针对这一问题,通过分析钢筋混凝土界面的黏结?滑移机理,提出了近场动力学界面区材料点的相互作用模型,发展了考虑钢筋混凝土界面黏结的键基近场动力学方法.基于键基近场动力学与连续介质力学的能量密度等效方法,提出了界面微弹性参数的确定方法;根据钢筋肋间混凝土的应力分布规律,获得界面材料点域半径与受限楔体半径的等效关系;利用界面黏结?滑移曲线峰值应力对应的滑移变形,给出了界面临界拉伸常数确定方法.通过与2组钢筋混凝土构件的拉拔试验对比,验证了发展的界面近场动力学方法,并开展了不同条件下钢筋混凝土构件的数值试验.结果表明,发展的近场动力方法能够合理反映钢筋直径、锚固长度、混凝土强度以及肋间距对钢筋混凝土界面黏结行为的影响,体现了所提方法的合理性与优越性.

城市地下基础设施低碳发展策略研究

Abstract :

在韧性城市、海绵城市与城市更新的背景下,城市地下基础设施作为城市建设的重要部分,其低碳、安全、协调发展对推动城市高质量发展,助力我国"双碳"目标实现具有重要作用.本文通过总结城市地下基础设施低碳发展的现状及存在的问题,提出了新建和既有城市地下基础设施低碳发展的实施路径与策略.研究认为,对于新建城市地下基础设施,以源头端、消费端、固碳端三端为抓手,提出了在规划设计、建造物化、运行维护阶段等全面考虑城市地下基础设施全生命周期的低碳发展策略;对于既有城市地下基础设施,提出了电气化、智能化和实用化的绿色改造策略以及新老交汇、和而不同的绿色扩建策略.为进一步推动我国城市地下基础设施低碳发展,从摸清城市地下基础设施温室气体排放家底、完善城市地下基础设施低碳发展顶层设计、加强城市地下基础设施低碳发展技术研发、加强城市地下基础设施低碳发展政策倾斜4个方面提出了对策建议.

城市地下空间恢复韧性发展策略研究

Abstract :

防灾减灾理念及其运用在城市地下空间发展过程中发挥了一定的安全保障作用,但在自然风险和工程安全风险交织的背景下,无法全面满足城市地下空间未来发展需求;转向以"适灾"为导向的韧性防灾减灾理念,重视城市地下空间的灾后恢复韧性,成为未来发展亟需.本文分析了恢复韧性的内涵和影响因素,从工程、非工程角度阐述了国内外恢复韧性相关研究;重点从结构体系、评价方法、管理机制、空间规划、应急预案等方面,剖析了我国城市地下空间韧性发展现状.研究提出了"三阶段+评价体系"的城市地下空间恢复韧性发展策略,将灾后恢复过程划分为应急救援、恢复重建、规划适应三阶段,分别给出各阶段的恢复目标并为城市地下空间恢复韧性评价体系建设提供依据.研究建议,健全城市地下空间管理规章与应急预案,提高城市地下空间韧性规划水平,推动城市地下空间管理智能化,以促进城市地下空间恢复过程的有序与高效.

考虑状态相关的砂土非正交弹塑性本构模型

砂土的力学特性具有显著的状态相关性,主要体现为不同应力状态与密实状态下砂土的变形特性具有显著差异.合理的状态相关硬化规律与剪胀规律描述是反映砂土状态相关变形特性的基础.提出了能够有效描述砂土等向压缩规律与临界状态规律的微分表达式,并基于等向压缩硬化规律建立了状态相关因子 ω,发展了砂土状态相关的硬化参数H,旨在合理确定塑性应变增量的大小;在利用非正交塑性流动法则确定塑性应变增量的方向的过程中,引入了状态变量ψ对分数阶次μ的影响,从而考虑了塑性应变增量方向的状态相关性,合理地描述了砂土的状态相关剪胀性.进一步,结合引入了状态变量的Hooke定律,确定了弹性应变增量,从而发展得出能够描述砂土状态相关特征的非正交弹塑性本构模型.通过合理预测Toyoura砂的常规三轴排水及不排水试验结果,验证了所建模型能够有效捕获砂土的状态相关力学特性.

Viscoelastic peridynamic fracture analysis for concrete beam with initial crack under impact SCIE

Abstract :

Based on viscoelastic peridynamic method, a numerical model of a three-point bending concrete beam with an initial crack is established in this work, whose accuracy and rationality are verified by comparing the fracture modes calculated by this model with the experimental results. The paper analyzed the angle of crack propagation and the evolution of energy, displacement, strain, and strain rate in the beam by the verified numerical model, while a total of 24 numerical examples with different initial crack positions and loading velocities are simulated, based on which the coupling influence law of the initial crack and loading velocity on the fracture mode of the beam is obtained. This paper reveals the dynamic fracture mechanism of the three-point bending concrete beam with an initial crack, and further assesses the features and superiorities of the viscoelastic peridynamic method by the agency of numerical experiments. Thus far, it has been certified that the developed viscoelastic peridynamic mothed can fairly consider the impact of the initial crack and loading velocity on the bearing capacity, deformation, and fracture properties of the concrete structure.
