Influence of Enterprise's Factor Inputs and Co-Opetition Relationships to Its Innovation Output SCIE SSCI
期刊论文 | 2023 , 15 (1) | SUSTAINABILITY
Abstract&Keyword Cite

Abstract :

In the context of economic globalization, innovation has become a major drive for the sustainable development of enterprises, which emphasizes the importance of studying the influencing factors of enterprise innovation output. The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence mechanism of different indicators on enterprise innovation output, and then provide relevant suggestions for improving enterprise innovation ability. This paper takes 562 enterprises in Chaoyang Sub-park and Fengtai Sub-park of Zhongguancun in Beijing within the time span between 2015 and 2016 as the research objects, and constructs a comprehensive indicator system of influencing factors for enterprise innovation output from the perspective of enterprise co-opetition relationship, factor input and environmental factors. A quantitative model of innovation output and influencing factors was built and then solved, via spike-and-slab sparse function and stepwise regression, aiming at analyzing the influence of different indicators on enterprise innovation output. In addition, this paper also classifies enterprises according to their innovation level and explores the influence of indicators on different types of enterprises. The innovation of this study lies in the modeling of competition and cooperation between enterprises and the establishment of a relatively comprehensive indicator system of influencing factors for enterprise innovation output. The results show that the degree of technological collaboration between enterprises, the level of financing and the degree of capital and labor input in innovation activities have significant positive effects on enterprise innovation output. On the contrary, product and service competition, as well as capital competition, tends to have a negative impact, which urges enterprises to pay heed to the intensity of competition faced by products and services as well as the diversity of financing sources and investment targets to reduce the negative impacts. In addition, enterprises with different levels of innovation should take customized measures in terms of factor input and co-opetition relationships, in that some indicators such as network structure indicators negatively influence the innovation output of enterprises with lower levels of innovation, but has positive impacts on those with higher levels of innovation.

Abstract :

For the Belt and Road Initiative, "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits" is the basic principle, and the competitiveness heterogeneity is an important condition for cooperation. Based on the complex network theory, this paper constructs a complex network model of global value chain (GVC) division of labor system by using the Multi-Regional Input-Output (MRIO) table and reveals the variation trend of competitiveness of industrial sectors and economies on the GVC network by the National Competitive Advantage Index (NCAI). The results verify the effectiveness of BRI and help countries along the BRI route to explore their comparative advantages and cooperation prospects with other countries. The research also provides a direction and reference for China to better implement the Initiative.

Simulation of Cooperation Scenarios of BRI-Related Countries Based on a GVC Network SSCI

Abstract :

The inter-country input-output table is appropriate for presenting sophisticated inter-industry dependencies from a global perspective. Using the above table one can perceive the amount of production resources that sectors obtain from their upstream ones, as well as the number of productive capacities that sectors provide for their downstream ones. In other words, competition/collaboration occurs when sectors share the same providers/consumers because all sectors' products and services outputted to downstream ones are limited. Thus, inter-industry competition for inputs from upstream sectors, or collaboration on outputs to downstream sectors, may be quantified with input-output matrix transformation. In this paper, a novel analytical framework of inter-industry collaborative relations is established based on the bipartite graph theory and the resource allocation process. The Collaborative Opportunity Index and Collaborative Threat index are designed to quantitatively measure the industrial influence hidden in the topological structure of the global value chain (GVC) network. Scenario simulations are carried out to forecast the potential and trends of international capacity cooperation within Asian, European, and African nations related to the Belt and Road Initiative, respectively.

Abstract :

A nested structure is a structural feature that is conducive to system stability formed by the coevolution of biological species in mutualistic ecosystems The coopetition relationship and value flow between industrial sectors in the global value chain are similar to the mutualistic ecosystem in nature. That is, the global economic system is always changing to form one dynamic equilibrium after another. In this paper, a nestedness-based analytical framework is used to define the generalist and specialist sectors for the purpose of analyzing the changes in the global supply pattern. We study why the global economic system can reach a stable equilibrium, what the role of different sectors play in the steady status, and how to enhance the stability of the global economic system. In detail, the domestic trade network, export trade network and import trade network of each country are extracted. Then, an econometric model is designed to analyze how the microstructure of the production system affects a country's macroeconomic performance.

Abstract :

Under the dual background of trade disputes between China and the United States and the epidemic of 2019 novel coronavirus, the existing Global Value Chain (GVC) division and trading system are facing unprecedented impact. This paper reinforces the present studies on international trade by analyzing the fragments of GVC, which are made of numerous Inter-Country Input-Output (ICIO) relations. We first redefine the inter-country and inter-sector propagating process of intermediate goods, coming up with the concept of Strongest Relevance Path Length (SRPL) based on Revised Floyd-Warshall Algorithm (RFWA). Second, enlightened by betweenness centrality, we introduce Weighted Betweenness Centrality of Edge based on RFWA to measure the Value-Added Pivotability of Input-Output Relations, which brings forth pivotability at domestic, international, and global levels. The results show how much a given country can influence the world economic pattern by linking worldwide upstream and downstream industrial sectors, be it at home or abroad. Also, we can try to explain what is the cause of the phenomenon that the economic influence of nations is trading off and taking turns with all sorts of local or even global evens happening.

Network-Based Driving Force of National Economic Development: A Social Capital Perspective SCIE SSCI

Abstract :

Network science has been widely applied in theoretical and empirical studies of global value chain (GVC), and many related articles have emerged, forming many more mature and complete analytical frameworks. Among them, the GVC accounting method based on complex network theory is different from the mainstream economics in both research angle and content. In this paper, we build up global industrial value chain network (GIVCN) models based on World Input-Output Database, introduce the theoretical framework of Social Capital, and define the network-based indicators with economic meanings. Second, we follow the econometric framework to analyze the hypothesis and test whether it is true. Finally, we study how the three types of capital constituted by these indicators interact with each other, and discuss their impact on the social capital (economic development level, i.e., GDP). The results prove that the structural capital (industrial status) has a positive impact on the social capital; the relational capital (industrial correlation) has a positive impact on both social capital and structural capital; the cognitive capital (industrial structure) has a small impact on the social capital, structural capital, and relational capital.

Analyzing the Co-Competition Mechanism of High-Tech Park from the Perspective of Complex Socioeconomic Network SCIE SSCI

Abstract :

The fusion of "innovation theory" and "ecology" gave birth to a large number of studies on "innovation ecology", which mainly studies how to build an industrial ecological chain at the regional level, focusing on self-evolution, achieving ecological balance, and enabling the regional economy to take the path of sustainable innovation. This type of research borrows a lot of concepts from ecology and very vividly describes the competition and cooperation relationships formed by various agents in the innovation system, laying a good foundation for qualitative analysis of the inherent dynamics of innovation development. However, many studies focus on the analogous description of ecosystems and economic systems, lacking scientifically and rigorously quantitative empirical research as support. This paper uses network-based indicators such as degree, cluster coefficient, and betweenness centrality to measure the function and position of high-tech enterprises in the Z-Park of a business environment. In this way, we clarify the socioeconomic meaning of the topological structure of the regional innovation system. On this basis, it provides theoretical references for regional innovation development and sustainable development policy formulation.

Finding the Worldwide Industrial Transfer Pattern Under the Perspective of Econophysics CPCI-S

Abstract :

Industrial transfer is the inevitable trend of economic development. The traditional industrial transfer theory tends to adopt partial data and methodologies from reductionism, and thus can't tackle with the highly non-linear systematic problems like the mechanism and evolution path of international, regional, and domestic industrial transfer. With the properties of structural complexity, dynamic evolution and multiple linkages, complex networks can better reflect the interdependent and mutually restricted relation between different levels and components of the industrial structure, pinpoint the optimization and control nodes. Currently, there are only a few available researches on such weighted, directed and dense networks reflecting the topological complexity of global value chain, with the results being unsystematic and impractical. This paper utilizes the available ICIO data to build the Binary GISRN model in accordance with crucial flows of materials, energy, and information among industrial sectors all over the world. Also, methods of defining and measuring the networks' redundancies are devised to figure out the trigger of worldwide industrial transfer pattern according to the link prediction method, thus blazing a new trail for the evolutionary economics.

Abstract :

To understand quantitatively how hi-tech enterprise cooperates with others in patent application over time is of great importance, for it affects how cooperative mechanism is organized and technology transferred. In this research, we construct the patent cooperation network IETTN from 2008-2017 in Z-Park to measure the overall structure of the network and the changes of nodes in the network, thus providing a new measurement for the innovation cooperation of high-tech enterprises from the perspective of the network. With the continuous expansion of patent cooperation among high-tech enterprises, enterprises' roles in the cooperative network and innovation ecosystem are quite different. Through analysis, it can be found that the Z-Park patent cooperation network presents an obvious scale-free feature, and a few large state-owned enterprises and research institutions are playing a leading role in the network.

Biphasic effect of nitrate on anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) and related kinetic modeling SCIE

Abstract&Keyword Cite

Abstract :

Nitrate is a byproduct of the anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process and is related to its electron transfer. However, little is known about the influence of nitrate on the anammox process. In this work, the biphasic effect of exogenous nitrate on the anammox process was investigated in an upflow biofilter (UBF) reactor with ammonium as the sole electron donor. The responses of anammox to increased nitrate were analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and found to be significantly different under a constant and decreased nitrite condition (p < 0.01). With a single increase in nitrate and constant ammonium and nitrite in the influent, the total nitrogen removal rate (TNRR) of anammox was uninhibited, but stoichiometry deviated and nitrate production always showed a linear decrease. In contrast, anammox exhibited a range of activity with constant ammonium and simultaneously increased nitrate and decreased nitrite in the influent, including a continuous reduction of TNRR, a nonpersistent ammonium overconsumption and a pronounced nonlinear response of nitrate production. Correlation analysis shows that the lack of ammonium overconsumption was accompanied by the disappearance of nitrate underproduction. Kinetic models of product formation were effectively used to explore the nitrate production behavior of anammox subjected to increased nitrate, and the metabolite of nitrate was divided into a growth negative coupling type and growth (partial) coupling type under a constant and decreased nitrite condition, respectively. These findings collectively suggest that nitrate has a biphasic effect on the anammox process and is correlated with the availability of nitrite. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
