Abstract :
Multi-scale electron microscopy characterization of the {332}<113 > beta twins produced in the necking region near fracture surface of the deformed beta-type Ti-42Nb (wt%) alloy have been carried out. A unique kind of bandshaped zone with plenty of laths of two alpha '' martensitic subvariants distributed in about 90 degrees crossing directions has been found to be formed in the {332}<113 > beta deformation twin along the twin boundary. This finding clearly reveals that intense local stress concentration and its complex accommodation process associated with the beta-to-alpha '' and alpha ''-to-beta structural transitions can occur specially in the twinned region of stress-induced alpha '' martensite phase along its boundary for the beta Ti alloy subjected to instable deformation. It is also clearly indicated that the local stress accommodation due to the alpha"-to-beta structural transition can be unsymmetrical with respect to the twin boundary.

Abstract :
In this paper, a new life assessment framework is proposed based on the elastic-viscoplastic modeling and the damage behavior for the structural component under multiaxial nonproportional loading at high temperature. The viscoplastic constitutive model with the ability to capture the non-proportional hardening effect is used to obtain the stress-strain fields, in which a new method based on the rotation of strain axis is proposed to evaluate the notch rotation factor. The damage model, which can comprehensively capture the multiaxial fatigue-oxidationcreep behaviors, is used to assess the failure life. In addition, the proposed framework is evaluated by the life results under proportional and non-proportional fatigue loadings at 650 degrees C, and the errors are found to be within a factor of 2.

Abstract :
The plastic deformation of the material is called dynamic plastic deformation when the strain rate is higher than 102 s-1. In comparison with quasi-static plastic deformation, the dynamic plastic deformation involves highly localized deformation and more complex mechanisms which can have a significant impact on the properties and life of materials. As a special deformation structure in the process of dynamic plastic deformation, adiabatic shear band has attracted great attention because of its influence on material properties. Because of its excellent mechanical properties, titanium alloy is widely used in many industries as structural material. Because of its wide application, titanium alloy will often face failure caused by adiabatic shear band formation in dynamic load, so as to reduce and shorten the service life. Therefore, the study on the formation mechanism of adiaba-tic shear band in titanium alloy is of great significance to prolong the service life of titanium alloy and improve the mechanical properties of titanium alloy. However, due to the transient of dynamic plastic deformation and the complexity of internal stress, it is difficult to reappear the formation of adiabatic shear band. Meanwhile the complexity of the structure and the instability of phase in the process of deformation increase the difficulty of observing the adiabatic shear band in titanium alloy. Through a large number of experimental observation and simulation calculation, it is generally believed that the formation mechanism of adiaba-tic shear band in titanium alloy is dynamic recrystallization. At present, there are four mainstream viewpoints in the process of dynamic recrystallization, namely, traditional dynamic recrystallization, continuous dynamic recrystallization, twin dynamic recrystallization and phase transformation induced dynamic recrystallization.According to different dynamic recrystallization methods, the researchers established the basic deformation mo-del and theoretical basis, and found some experimental evidence. In this review, some typical research results reported in recent years dealing with the adiabatic shear bands about their morphology, properties and related formation mechanisms in titanium alloys subjected to dynamic plastic deformation are summarized. Typical formation mechanisms of adiabatic shear bands and related problems for titanium alloys are discussed so as to provide useful information for future research. © 2021, Materials Review Magazine. Abstract :
Patent similarity measurement, as one of the fundamental building blocks for patent analysis, is able to derive technical intelligence efficiently, but also can detect the risk of infringement and evaluate whether the invention meets the criteria of novelty and innovation. However, traditional approaches make implicitly several assumptions, such as bag of words in each component, semantic direction irrelevance and so on. In order to relax these assumptions, this study proposes an improved methodology on the basis of entities and semantic relations (functional and non-functional relations), which takes semantic direction of each sequence structure and the word order information of each component into consideration. Meanwhile, an algorithm for calculating the global importance of each sequence structure is put forward. Finally, to verify the effectiveness and performance of the improved semantic analysis, a case study is conducted on the thin film head subfield in the field of hard disk drive. Extensive experimental results show that our approach is significantly more accurate. © 2021 Elsevier Ltd.

Abstract :
A unified viscoplastic constitutive model coupled with a physically-based damage variable, is proposed to capture the cyclic mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution of the material at elevated temperature. The mechanical strength can be reduced by the decrease in the dislocation density, the coarsening of the martensitic lath and the loss of the martensitic structure under cyclic loading. The proposed physically-based damage variable is driven by the evolutions of dislocation density and martensitic lath width. The good com-parisons with test results mean that the proposed model can reasonably model the cyclic elastic-viscoplastic constitutive behavior of the material at high temperature.

Abstract :
The 18R and 14H long-period stacking ordered (LPSO) phases were generally considered that only the basal and non-basal slips and kink banding could be activated during quasi-state deformation at room temperature. Here, we confirm that the pyramidal II slips can also be activated in the 18R LPSO phase by quasi-state nanoindentation and in the 14H LPSO phase by cold roll with a rolling direction parallel to the (0001) plane. Due to the interaction between the Zn6Y8 atomic clusters in the LPSO phases and the pyramidal II dislocations, the pyramidal II slips are localized in the well-defined slip bands while the chemically ordered structure of Zn6Y8 atomic clusters is disrupted to be disordered. Additionally, the interaction also induces Zn/Y atoms segregation at the two edges of the slip band. Our results unravel the origin for the excellent room temperature plasticity in the LPSO phases. © 2021 Elsevier Ltd

Abstract :
A novel Fe-enriched lamella sandwich phase (χ-phase) has been found to precipitate along the basal (0001)Mg planes in the heat-treated Mg-Gd-Fe alloy and its structure is clearly revealed by means of atomic-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The layered χ-phase only has a thickness of mono-unit-cell and consists invariably of ten atomic layers stacking along the [0001]Mg direction, of which the outermost atomic layers had larger in-plane atom-pillar spacing than the inner layers. Fe/Gd atoms are mainly enriched in the outer four atomic layers in the χ-phase, forming two structurally unsymmetrical four-layer shells to sandwich the middle two Mg layers. Abstract :
本文利用原子分辨的高角环形暗场扫描透射电镜(HADDF-STEM)成像技术并结合第一性原理计算的方法研究了Mg97 Gd2 Y1(at.%)合金200℃时效初期结构的形成和演变过程.结果表明,合金时效初期优先形成与富稀土原子柱近邻组合关联的各种纳米级细小富稀土团簇.这些由富稀土原子柱构建的团簇可以通过分解、重组而转变成β''''型局域网格状析出以及"之"字形G.P.区,进而形成β''相晶核.通过对具有典型构型的析出团簇形成能和结合能的计算,进一步验证了合金时效初期结构演变过程的合理性.
