Abstract :
In this paper, rich dynamics and complex bifurcations of an SIR epidemic model with saturated incidence rate and strong Allee effect are investigated. First, the existence of disease-free and endemic equilibria is explored, and we prove that the system has at most three positive equilibria, which exhibit different types such as hyperbolic saddle and node, degenerate unstable saddle (node) of codimension 2, degenerate saddle-node of codimension 3 at disease-free equilibria, and cusp, focus, and elliptic types Bogdanov-Takens singularities of codimension 3 at endemic equilibria. Second, bifurcation analysis at these equilibria are investigated, and it is found that the system undergoes a series of bifurcations, including transcritical, saddle node, Hopf, degenerate Hopf, homoclinic, cusp type Bogdanov-Takens of codimensional 2, and focus and elliptic type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 3 which are composed of some bifurcations with lower codimension. The system shows very rich dynamics such as the coexistence of multiple periodic orbits and homoclinic loops. Finally, numerical simulations are conducted on the theoretical results.

Abstract :
A model of impulsive octonion-valued fuzzy inertial neural networks (OVFINNs) with time-varying delays is established, and fixed-time (FXT) synchronization is investigated by using direct octonion approach. First, a new FXT stability lemma of impulsive systems is presented and the upper bound of settling time is estimated by using the average impulsive interval and comparison principle. Second, two inequalities on fuzzy logic are developed in the field of octonion. Third, novel lemmas are introduced based on octonion-valued norm and sign function to overcome the non associative and non commutative laws of octonion multiplication. Furthermore, two new nonlinear octonion-valued controllers are directly designed to induce the FXT synchronization. Then, according to the improving FXT stability lemma and designed controllers, some novel sufficient conditions are given to ensure FXT synchronization of OVFINNs. Finally, two numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the correctness of the theoretical results and the effectiveness of FXT synchronization in secure communication.

Abstract :
In this paper, a modified Leslie-type predator-prey system with Holling-type III functional response is formulated to investigate the dynamics in the presence of special Allee effect induced by fear factors. First, we calculate the first three focal values by the method of successor function to ensure that the system has an unstable weak focus of multiplicity 3. A focus- or center-type degenerate Bogdanov-Takens singularity of codimension 3 and a weak focus of multiplicity 1 or 2 together with a cusp of codimension 2 are derived for the system. Then multiple bifurcations are explored. It is shown that the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation of codimension 3 and hence three limit cycles are generated. There exists another large stable limit cycle enclosing these three limit cycles by Poincar & eacute;-Bendixson theorem. We demonstrate that a degenerate focus-type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 3 can occur by calculating the universal unfolding. It is also shown that a subcritical, supercritical or degenerate Hopf bifurcation occurs together with a Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation. Finally, numerical simulations are used to support the theoretical results. The analysis results reveal that the special Allee effect is beneficial for the persistence and diversity of ecosystem.

Abstract :
In this paper, a modified Leslie-type predator-prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response is established, in which double Allee effect on prey and nonlinear prey harvesting are considered. The analysis of the model shows that there exists a Bogdanov-Takens singularity (focus case) of codimension 4, and also multiple other nonhyperbolic and degenerate equilibria. Bifurcations are explored and it is found that transcritical bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 2, degenerate cusp type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 3, and degenerate focus type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 4 occur as parameters vary. The bifurcations result in complex dynamic behaviors, such as double limit cycle, triple limit cycle, quadruple limit cycle, cuspidal loop, (multiple) homoclinic loop, saddle-node loop, and limit cycle(s) simultaneously with homoclinic loop. We run numerical simulations to verify the theoretical results, and it is found that the system admits bistability, tristability, or even tetrastability.(c) 2022 International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS). Abstract :
In this paper, in order to obtain a smaller estimation of settling time, reduce chattering caused by sign function and improve network communication efficiency, the fixed-time (FXT) synchronization of delayed BAM neural networks is analyzed based on some new FXT stability results and non-chattering quantized controllers. Firstly, by comprehensively discussing the conditions of power laws in differential inequalities, a new FXT stability lemma is presented and a smaller upper bound of settling time is estimated. Then, unlike previous controllers with sign functions, a non-chattering quantized state feedback control and a non-chattering quantized pinning control are designed, and some sufficient conditions are derived to ensure FXT synchronization of the established system. Finally, two numerical simulations are given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results. The results show that compared with the previous researches, this paper provides a smaller upper bound. However, the convergence time of the uncontrolled nodes is indirectly affected by the coupling of the controlled nodes and is much longer than the estimated upper bound. & COPY; 2023 The Franklin Institute. Abstract :
Traditional biological neural networks cannot simulate the real situation of the abrupt synaptic connections between neurons while modeling associative memory of human brains. In this paper, the memristive multidirectional associative memory neural networks (MAMNNs) with mixed time-varying delays are investigated in the sense of Filippov solution. First, three steps are given to prove the existence of the almost periodic solution. Two new lemmas are proposed to prove the boundness of the solution and the asymptotical almost periodicity of the solution by constructing Lyapunov function. Second, the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the almost periodic solution of memristive MAMNNs are investigated by a new Lyapunov function. The sufficient conditions guaranteeing the properties of almost periodic solution are derived based on the relevant definitions, Halanay inequality and Lyapunov function. The investigation is an extension of the research on the periodic solution and almost periodic solution of bidirectional associative memory neural networks. Finally, numerical examples with simulations are presented to show the validity of the main results.

Abstract :
The global exponential synchronization of Clifford-valued memristive fuzzy neural networks (CLVMFNNs) with delayed impulses and time-varying delays is investigated. The Clifford-valued NNs are an extension of complex-valued and quaternion-valued NNs. In order to describe the system as realistically as possible, Clifford-valued memristive fuzzy neural networks with delayed impulses and time-varying delays are established. To avoid non-commutativity of the multiplication of Clifford numbers, Clifford-valued neural networks are decomposed into real-valued neural networks. To explore the exponential stability of delayed impulsive systems, a novel lemma is proposed by using Halanay differential inequality. To induce the global exponential synchronization, a novel and simple linear feedback controller is designed. Sufficient conditions are given to ensure the global exponential synchronization using the proposed novel lemma under the designed feedback controller. Compared with the previous results, the conditions given in this paper are more effective and less conservative. A numerical simulation is given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract :
The influences of Allee effect and density-dependent mortality on population growth are of great significance in ecology. In this paper, we first consider a Gause-type predator-prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response, strong Allee effect on prey, and density-dependent mortality of predator. It is shown that the system exhibits rich and complex dynamics like bistability, local and global bifurcations such as transcritical bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation, cusp bifurcation, Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation, Bautin bifurcation, homoclinic bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation of limit cycle, and heteroclinic bifurcation. Next, we separately explore the influences of Allee effect and density-dependent mortality on the dynamics of the same model. The results show that the strong Allee effect induces the occurrence of heteroclinic bifurcation and the reduction of the number of limit cycles, while the density-dependent mortality stabilizes the system. Since the analytical expressions of the interior equilibria are difficult to derive, the results are verified numerically.

Abstract :
Ground-glass nodules (GGN) are the main manifestation of early lung cancer, and accurate and efficient identification of ground-glass pulmonary nodules is of great significance for the treatment of lung diseases. In response to the problem of traditional machine learning requiring manual feature extraction, and most deep learning models applied to 2D image classification, this paper proposes a Transformer-based recognition model for ground-glass nodules from the view of global 3D asymmetry feature representation. Firstly, a 3D convolutional neural network is used as the backbone to extract the features of the three-dimensional CT-image block of pulmonary nodules automatically; secondly, positional encoding information is added to the extracted feature map and input into the Transformer encoder layer for further extraction of global 3D asymmetry features, which can preserve more spatial information and obtain higher-order asymmetry feature representation; finally, the extracted asymmetry features are entered into a support vector machine or ELM-KNN model to further improve the recognition ability of the model. The experimental results show that the recognition accuracy of the proposed method reaches 95.89%, which is 4.79, 2.05, 4.11, and 2.74 percentage points higher than the common deep learning models of AlexNet, DenseNet121, GoogLeNet, and VGG19, respectively; compared with the latest models proposed in the field of pulmonary nodule classification, the accuracy has been improved by 2.05, 2.05, and 0.68 percentage points, respectively, which can effectively improve the recognition accuracy of ground-glass nodules.

Abstract :
This paper addresses the problem of multistability of competitive neural networks with nonlinear, non-monotonic piecewise activation functions and time-varying delays. Several sufficient conditions are proposed to guarantee the existence of (2K+1)n$$ {\left(2K+1\right)}<^>n $$ equilibrium points and the locally exponential stability of (K+1)n$$ {\left(K+1\right)}<^>n $$ equilibrium points, where K$$ K $$ is a positive integer and determined by the property of activation functions and the parameters of neural networks. The quantitative relationship between the equilibrium points of the system and the zero roots of the bounding functions is given. In addition, the attraction basins of the exponentially stable equilibrium points are obtained. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.
