Abstract :
The influences of Allee effect and density-dependent mortality on population growth are of great significance in ecology. In this paper, we first consider a Gause-type predator-prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response, strong Allee effect on prey, and density-dependent mortality of predator. It is shown that the system exhibits rich and complex dynamics like bistability, local and global bifurcations such as transcritical bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Hopf bifurcation, cusp bifurcation, Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation, Bautin bifurcation, homoclinic bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation of limit cycle, and heteroclinic bifurcation. Next, we separately explore the influences of Allee effect and density-dependent mortality on the dynamics of the same model. The results show that the strong Allee effect induces the occurrence of heteroclinic bifurcation and the reduction of the number of limit cycles, while the density-dependent mortality stabilizes the system. Since the analytical expressions of the interior equilibria are difficult to derive, the results are verified numerically.

Abstract :
In this paper, a modified Leslie-type predator-prey model with simplified Holling type IV functional response is established, in which double Allee effect on prey and nonlinear prey harvesting are considered. The analysis of the model shows that there exists a Bogdanov-Takens singularity (focus case) of codimension 4, and also multiple other nonhyperbolic and degenerate equilibria. Bifurcations are explored and it is found that transcritical bifurcation, saddle-node bifurcation, Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 2, degenerate cusp type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 3, and degenerate focus type Bogdanov-Takens bifurcation of codimension 4 occur as parameters vary. The bifurcations result in complex dynamic behaviors, such as double limit cycle, triple limit cycle, quadruple limit cycle, cuspidal loop, (multiple) homoclinic loop, saddle-node loop, and limit cycle(s) simultaneously with homoclinic loop. We run numerical simulations to verify the theoretical results, and it is found that the system admits bistability, tristability, or even tetrastability.(c) 2022 International Association for Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (IMACS). Abstract :
In this paper, in order to obtain a smaller estimation of settling time, reduce chattering caused by sign function and improve network communication efficiency, the fixed-time (FXT) synchronization of delayed BAM neural networks is analyzed based on some new FXT stability results and non-chattering quantized controllers. Firstly, by comprehensively discussing the conditions of power laws in differential inequalities, a new FXT stability lemma is presented and a smaller upper bound of settling time is estimated. Then, unlike previous controllers with sign functions, a non-chattering quantized state feedback control and a non-chattering quantized pinning control are designed, and some sufficient conditions are derived to ensure FXT synchronization of the established system. Finally, two numerical simulations are given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results. The results show that compared with the previous researches, this paper provides a smaller upper bound. However, the convergence time of the uncontrolled nodes is indirectly affected by the coupling of the controlled nodes and is much longer than the estimated upper bound. & COPY; 2023 The Franklin Institute. Abstract :
The global exponential synchronization of Clifford-valued memristive fuzzy neural networks (CLVMFNNs) with delayed impulses and time-varying delays is investigated. The Clifford-valued NNs are an extension of complex-valued and quaternion-valued NNs. In order to describe the system as realistically as possible, Clifford-valued memristive fuzzy neural networks with delayed impulses and time-varying delays are established. To avoid non-commutativity of the multiplication of Clifford numbers, Clifford-valued neural networks are decomposed into real-valued neural networks. To explore the exponential stability of delayed impulsive systems, a novel lemma is proposed by using Halanay differential inequality. To induce the global exponential synchronization, a novel and simple linear feedback controller is designed. Sufficient conditions are given to ensure the global exponential synchronization using the proposed novel lemma under the designed feedback controller. Compared with the previous results, the conditions given in this paper are more effective and less conservative. A numerical simulation is given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract :
Traditional biological neural networks cannot simulate the real situation of the abrupt synaptic connections between neurons while modeling associative memory of human brains. In this paper, the memristive multidirectional associative memory neural networks (MAMNNs) with mixed time-varying delays are investigated in the sense of Filippov solution. First, three steps are given to prove the existence of the almost periodic solution. Two new lemmas are proposed to prove the boundness of the solution and the asymptotical almost periodicity of the solution by constructing Lyapunov function. Second, the uniqueness and global exponential stability of the almost periodic solution of memristive MAMNNs are investigated by a new Lyapunov function. The sufficient conditions guaranteeing the properties of almost periodic solution are derived based on the relevant definitions, Halanay inequality and Lyapunov function. The investigation is an extension of the research on the periodic solution and almost periodic solution of bidirectional associative memory neural networks. Finally, numerical examples with simulations are presented to show the validity of the main results.

Abstract :
Ground-glass nodules (GGN) are the main manifestation of early lung cancer, and accurate and efficient identification of ground-glass pulmonary nodules is of great significance for the treatment of lung diseases. In response to the problem of traditional machine learning requiring manual feature extraction, and most deep learning models applied to 2D image classification, this paper proposes a Transformer-based recognition model for ground-glass nodules from the view of global 3D asymmetry feature representation. Firstly, a 3D convolutional neural network is used as the backbone to extract the features of the three-dimensional CT-image block of pulmonary nodules automatically; secondly, positional encoding information is added to the extracted feature map and input into the Transformer encoder layer for further extraction of global 3D asymmetry features, which can preserve more spatial information and obtain higher-order asymmetry feature representation; finally, the extracted asymmetry features are entered into a support vector machine or ELM-KNN model to further improve the recognition ability of the model. The experimental results show that the recognition accuracy of the proposed method reaches 95.89%, which is 4.79, 2.05, 4.11, and 2.74 percentage points higher than the common deep learning models of AlexNet, DenseNet121, GoogLeNet, and VGG19, respectively; compared with the latest models proposed in the field of pulmonary nodule classification, the accuracy has been improved by 2.05, 2.05, and 0.68 percentage points, respectively, which can effectively improve the recognition accuracy of ground-glass nodules.

Abstract :
In this paper, a SEIR epidemic model related to media coverage and exogenous reinfections is established to explore the transmission dynamics of COVID-19. The basic reproduction number is calculated using the next generation matrix method. First, the existence of equilibrium points is investigated, and different kinds of equilibrium points indicate that the disease may disappear, or exist that result in different quantity of susceptible individuals, pre-symptomatic infected individuals and symptomatic infected individuals. The stability of the equilibria is discussed by a geometric approach, and it is found that controlling reproduction number to be lower than 1 is not sufficient for eradication of COVID-19. Second, transcritical bifurcation is explored, and it is found that improving the ratio of exogenous reinfection may lead to backward bifurcation under poor medical conditions, which indicates that two endemic equilibrium points appear. Third, to investigate the influence of parameters on the basic reproduction, sensitivity analysis is done to choose relatively sensitive parameters, and the parameters for treatment and media coverage are selected. An optimal control model is established to balance the treatment and media awareness. By exploring the existence and the uniqueness of the optimal control solution, the optimal control strategies are given. Finally, we run numerical simulations to verify the theoretical analysis on actual data of China, and the data from the four different states of India is used for forecasting the situation of infected individuals in a short period. It is found by the simulation that the co-function of treatment and media coverage results in the reduced number of infectious individuals.

Abstract :
To investigate the regulatory function of miRNA on gene expression at the post-transcriptional level, the synchronization of fractional-order gene regulatory networks (FOGRNs) mediated by miRNA with time delays and unknown parameters is explored. First, a more realistic gene regulatory network model mediated by miRNA with leakage, time-varying delays and unknown parameters is established. Second, the feedback controllers and parameter adaptive laws are designed to induce synchronization and identify unknown parameters. Third, some synchronization conditions are presented and the unknown parameters are accurately identified by using the designed feedback controllers, the parameter adaptive laws and the constructed Lyapunov function. It is found that the smaller the value of the fractional order, the longer it takes to synchronize, and it takes more time to complete the identification of the unknown parameters. Finally, MATLAB simulations are given to verify the theoretical results. (C) 2022 The Franklin Institute. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract :
In this paper, the non-decomposition method is employed to investigate the quasi-projective synchronization of fractional-order complex-valued neural networks (FOCVNNs) with leakage and discrete delays. Firstly, two new inequalities are established in complex domain, which provides a powerful tool to explore the synchronization and stability of complex-valued systems. Secondly, by means of the Banach fixed point theorem, the existence and uniqueness of solution of the delayed FOCVNNs is discussed under certain conditions. Thirdly, a linear complex-valued controller is designed to induce quasi-projective synchronization of the delayed FOCVNNs, and some novel results are given by using the presented inequalities, the non-decomposition method and the Lyapunov stability theory. Further, the error bounds are estimated. It is found that a smaller error bound can be obtained by appropriately increasing the feedback gains. Finally, two numerical examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the theoretical results and the practicability of the synchronization strategy in secure communication. Abstract :
In order to overcome the complexity of the theoretical analysis caused by using decomposition method to explore the finite-time synchronization behavior of fractional-order quaternion-valued neural networks (FOQVNNs), we aim to deal with this problem directly instead of decomposition. Firstly, two inequalities about quaternion are developed to broaden the current achievements in quaternion field. Secondly, a fractional differential inequality is established by using Laplace transform and applying the definition of Mittag-Leffler function. Then, by employing the presented inequalities and two different quaternion control strategies, some new conditions are derived to guarantee the finite-time synchronization of the delayed FOQVNNs. Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the correctness of the main results.
