Abstract:
Double-flank gear rolling test is widely used in high speed gear measurement in workshop, but the measurement results may be influenced by measurement force. An algorithm is proposed for gear tooth radial deformation by measurement force in the test. The numerical results calculated in MATLAB considers different measurement forces and materials. Finite Element Method (FEM) used analyzes the radial tooth deformation under the influence of the measurement force. The maximum difference of radial deformation between the two methods is 0.1 mu m. Experiments are carried out on a tester under different measurement force varying from 0.5 N to 4 N. The variation of tooth-to-tooth radial composite deviation is 3.0 mu m, while the variation in MATLAB is 6.12 mu m. Compared to ISO 1328-2:1997, the product gear accuracy grade deviates from grade 11 to 10. The algorithm proposed can be used to calculate gear radial deformation influenced by measurement force in double-flank gear rolling test.
